Easy SEO Hub Writing Tips for Comments

These Easy Non-Technical SEO Hub Writing Tips will help you understand how important it is to include a comment capsule in your hubs, and how that can help your hub articles rank in search engine results so people see them.

Just the mention of SEO makes a lot of writer's cringe. Thoughts of black hat/white hat technical stuff. Images of hours of extra work creating backlinks and even more content to get people to look at other content, and, work. Just more work. Writers just want to write, and they don't want to jump through hoops, or change their style for this SEO stuff.

This simple SEO hub writing tip about comment capsules is one you can use without doing anything extra.

Easy SEO Hub Tip that Feeds Google

About 80% of people searching the Internet use Google to do it, so it just makes sense to feed Google a few crumbs whenever you can. This easy SEO writing tip works for Bing and Yahoo also. Although none of the search engines will tell folks exactly what they use to decide which search results they return, they have given enough hints for SEO experts to figure out what some of the more important deciding factors are.

Hub article titles and URL's, (address link), are important SEO factors, and were discussed in this article: Easy SEO Hub Writing Tips for the Title and URL. The article summary is another important and easy to use SEO tool - you can see those details here: Easy SEO Hub Writing Tips: The Summary. Both articles point out easy ways to feed Google the things it wants in order to list your writings higher in the search results so more people will see and click on your writing efforts.

It's all about traffic, but it doesn't have to be all about extra SEO efforts.

Two other factors that are known to be used in search engine decisions are; keyword usage, and content "freshness." By freshness, they mean how often a piece of writing, (or a web site), is updated. Google views updated material as being more relevant than static content. And they also view keyword usage as an indicator of content relevancy.

For Google searches, it's all about relevance - how relevant is the article to what the searcher was asking for. Fresh material with appropriate keyword usage scores well when compared to other material when it comes to the relevancy contest to see who's articles get returned as search results.

Using a comments capsule in your hubs is an excellent way to feed Google what it wants in both of these areas.

Hub Writing Tips: Keywords in The Right Places

Keywords are just the words someone using Google search types in to tell Google what they are looking for. If they search for "chocolate cake recipes," then those become the words Google tries to find in articles and other Internet content. "Chocolate Cake recipes" become the keywords.

Here are the locations where Google "likes" to find the keywords:

  1. URL - the web address link
  2. Title - at the beginning is better than at the end
  3. Article Summary
  4. Beginning of content
  5. In the body of the content
  6. Eureka! Here is the place most people forget about - The end of the content, sort of like a conclusion. Google likes to find the keywords at the end too.

That is something a comment capsule will do for you - with no extra effort on your part, and no effect on your style of writing. No extra contortions trying to fit those keywords in where they might not fit the flow.

Easy SEO Tips for the Comments Capsule

Of course it helps if your content is the kind that will encourage readers to leave comments, that's the optimum situation. But even if it isn't, using a comments capsule gives you one more free chance to include your keywords that will help your article make it onto the search results listings.

Always use your hub title as the comments capsule title - Never just leave it titled: "Comments." And blurbs like "Comments are always welcome," or such don't help you either.

Put your hub title before the word comment, like this:

"Easy SEO Hub Writing Tips: Use The Comments Capsule Comments"

Sure it's not cutesy, and may read a little clunky, but it's a comment capsule title - not part of the design or flow of your article, so make it work for you. Never waste an opportunity to feed Google Search.

That's the least benefit your comment capsule can add to your article - free of charge, and free of extra effort. But... if your article is one that will generate good comments, the keyword was "good, " not stuff like hub-hoppers give you; "Nice hub," Good read." etc. Those kind of comments do help a little because each added word changes your content in Google's eyes - changes as in "freshens" - remember Google likes "freshened" content.

On the other hand, good substantive comments, even long back and forth discussion comments are pure gold for you. Free gold, and free SEO booster power. Because those good comments will not only act as a "freshener" for your content, but they will also probably add repeated use of your keywords - more food for Google search.

You get all that SEO benefit just by including a comments capsule and fixing its title - as easy as that.

ps. there is one more thing you can do, it sometimes looks kind of clunky, but it does work.

Every time you respond to a comment - start with a line that gives you one more chance to get your keywords in, insert your hub title into your response. Something like this:

@whoever - thanks for taking the time to read "Easy SEO Hub Writing Tips: Use The Comments Capsule," I appreciate it. And the nice comment too.

Well, all I can say is sheer genius. Inserting your title in the Comments Box and repeating in the first sentence where you thank readers for commenting. Brilliant.

I didn't realize search engines would scrutinize the whole article...I thought just title and summary. Now why I thought that I have no idea. :) Thanks again.

I am convinced that you can optimize without spending inordinate amounts of time on it. You have been a great help.
